This is a new range of hiking maps for different Alpine areas. Maps are spiral bound and come in a protective plastic pouch. Each booklet covers 50 hikes in detail, at a scale of 1:50 000 and features levels of difficulty, time required, GPS-coordinates, photographs, approach map, regional information, hiking rules, hiking tips, hiking signalisation (hiking, mountain and alpine path), pagination diagram and a legend. The Moon map allows Hallwag to show off a little, mapping both the near and far sides of the moon; naming craters, features etc. This might seem of dubious necessity, but the fact that the “Dark Side” of the moon is also shown brings obvious questions, creating a talking point, and leading to a better understanding of our satellite. The second map in this series is a guide to the Solar System and is double sided. The front side of the map gives a pictorial idea of the relationship between the planets and the sun, with a relative size chart and inset astro-photographs of the planets, while the reverse of the map holds a wealth of information on each planet. The third map is of the Stars and Constellations depicting views of the night sky as observed from either hemisphere. The constellations are labelled and indicated by subtle, fine lines which link the stars. The most well known and higher magnitude stars are labelled and other features such as nebulae and galaxies are also shown.
